Haiku--By Rita Odeh--Israel

waking to
the pond's song...
a lotus

narrow path...
following a monarch
butterfly

first light…
emptying a seashell
of shadows
_______________

pilgrim's chant-
slowly, the lotus unfold
their petals
_______________

Shikoku temples-
a pilgrim and his shadow
follow the light

  1. Love these Rita my friend - 'a pilgrim and his shadow follow the light'. May you indeed see that light in your life.

  2. Beautifully written. You certainly capture many a moment whilst your subjects can still roam free. Excellent. Kind regards. . Ralph

  3. I so enjoyed your Haiku. I particularly loved this one, "first light…emptying a seashell
of shadows". I could just see the morning light rising above the horizon and the sea shell sitting on the sand "facing the light" of the sun. I thought of how we all should do that in our spiritual lives, "Turn around and face the light", the earlier the better to chase away the shadows. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.
    Love, Charlene
