Sacred Frost--By Cindy Hutchings--United States

Sacred Frost
(After: “Frost at Midnight” by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, 1772-1834)

Frost performs
secret ministry

cry of silentness
hush of nature

idling Spirit
interprets

everywhere
seeking itself

believing mind
presageful

sweetly haunted
sounds of things to come

gentle breathings
wander like a breeze

eternal language
utters

secret ministry
of frost.

Cindy Hutchings’ first poetry chapbook, Tree Talk, was published by MoonPath Press; info is at: http://moonpathpress.com/CindyHutchings.htm  Her poetry is also shared online at QuillandParchment.com.
